Páramo de Ocetá Monguí

The Ocetá paramo is located in the municipality of Monguí in Boyacá. This paramo is considered one of the most beautiful and best preserved in Colombia, a country that has 60% of all paramos in the world. The paramo is located at about 4000 meters above sea level, and its temperature can range between 0°C at night, and 17°C during the day.

 

This paramo is a place that surpasses any synonym of beauty, with its multicolored gardens full of silver, yellow, and white frailejones, yellow senecios, purple lupines, and a large amount of moss and lichens attached to the rocks. It is definitely one of the last environmental wonders found in Colombia.
