Orinoco Region
The Orinoquía, also known as the Eastern Plains, is one of Colombia’s six natural regions. It is located in the eastern part of the country, bordering Venezuela to the north and east, the Amazon to the south, and the Andean region to the west.
This vast territory of savannas, mighty rivers, and wetlands is ideal for wildlife watching, including deer, capybaras, tapirs, and a wide variety of birds native to the plains. Activities along its rivers offer open landscapes and unforgettable sunsets. In nature reserves and tourist ranches, visitors can enjoy llanero safaris, guided hikes, and sport fishing.
The region also offers cultural experiences deeply connected to the life of the llanero, combining close contact with nature with an immersion into the traditions and customs of the Orinoquía.
