Chivor
Chivor, the youngest municipality in the department of Boyacá, located in the region of Valle de Tenza, is one of the places with the largest emerald deposits in the world, and the story of Daza and Patricia is one of the most talked about by its inhabitants. Since the Spanish conquest, the minerals in the region have been exploited. A primitive 22-kilometer canal, created in 1520 by the Chibchas to bring water to the mines, can be seen running through the mountains of Chivor and shows pioneering mining exploitation techniques.
