Overview

The magnificent Solano Bay, located in the north of Colombia, next to the border with Panama, is bathed throughout the year by various maritime currents, bringing to the coast an immense variety of large predatory fish that inhabit the waters of the Pacific. This factor, allied to the isolation and natural characteristics of the region, make this one of the best destinations in the world for sport fishing today.

With 10 minutes to an hour of navigation, the fisherman will already be in some of the best fishing spots in the region, according to the modality that he practices:

  • Throwing fishing, by boat or on the coast, using poppers, mid-water lures and jig, to capture Braves, Tunas, Snapper, Robalos, Tarpon, Marlin, Roosterfish, among many other species.
  • Deep vertical fishing, with metal jigs, for large Braves, Snapper, Tuna and Chernas, as well as other species.
  • Trawling, for Blue Marlins and Black Marlins, Large Tunas, Sailfish, Dorados and Wahoos, among other fish.
  • Fishing with live baits, to fish all surface or bottom species, such as Tunas, Roosterfish, Robalos, Tarpon, Snapper, Sailfish and Chernas, among others.
  • Fly fishing, to fish from the coast, such as Robalos, Tarpon, Roosterfish, Snapper, among others, to the large Tunas and billfish, such as Marlins and Sailfish.

What you will remember forever:

  • Yellowfin tuna and Blackfin tuna attack and fishing frenzy
  • Good sized and eccentric colored Mahi Mahi.
  • The attack, the fight and the jumps of a sail fish
  • The weird and charming form of a rooster
  • The wild vegetation and fauna from the northwest coasts of the Colombia Pacific Ocean
